Best Book of the Year – ” Non pedagogical poem “

In late September, in Mariupol took place IV Regional Book Festival “The Book and press, Mariupol ‘, which was attended by various book publishers and authors – writers, poets, journalists, and nominees, which books where released last year. In the category “Fiction Prose “took first place book of Gennadiy Mokhnenko” Non pedagogical poem “.


The event gathered the literature elite of the Azov region, the surrounding towns and villages. At the event they presented the works of a very young writers, and representatives of the mature generation of writers of Mariupol.


Deputy Mayor of Mariupol, Tatiana Lomakin, congratulated writers for all their writing achievements and noted that this is a great contribution to the development of our country, said a lot of warm words about the people who changing the world, to make it more good and bright.

At the festival there where collections of poems, autobiographical memories albums, historical essays about our land, works of art, story, essay on various topics.

In the category “Best fiction book” the first place won “Non pedagogical poem,” whose author is the president of the charity fund “Pilgrim” pastor Gennadiy Mokhnenko. His book tells about the formation and development of work with homeless children in Mariupol. It describes the real life stories of children in rehabilitation center “Pilgrim Republic” with the comments of the author, who was a direct participant in the events – the founder and first leader of the center.


Particularly exciting moment of the festival was the nomination, and presentation of the diploma to a winner “The Best Book of the Year” – the recipients of this honor were heroes of the book’s stories themselves, older students of the “Pilgrim Republic”.

After the official part all the winners and nominees were invited to celebration concert, provided by an ensemble of folk instruments, bands, singers and poets of Mariupol.
